Dr. Amit N. Thakker | Chairman
Dr. Amit is the Executive Chairman of Africa Health Business and President of Africa Healthcare Federation. A visionary entrepreneur & an industry captain with 30+ years’ experience in health service delivery, health financing and health policy formulation. Dr. Thakker, has been a groundbreaking pioneer in the integration of private sector within the health system in Africa. He continues to support governments, corporates, health organisations and development partners to foster effective Public Private Partnership initiatives towards improved health outcomes. Dr. Amit has managed several health businesses in service delivery and insurance in African countries including Kenya, Ghana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and South Africa.
Dr. Kioko Jackson K. | Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Kioko is a medical doctor by profession, specialist in public health; health systems organization and international health development. He holds a Master’s degree in public health and international development (Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium); Master’s degree in Health systems management and administration (Galilee University College, Tel-Aviv ISRAEL). He has over 25 years’ experience in public health administration and management, having provided strategic leadership while serving in various capacities in the public service with remarkable results. Dr. Kioko has served as the Director, medical services; Head, Preventive & promotive services; Head, TB, Leprosy & lung disease program and Provincial Medical officer (Nyanza) as well as serving as District Medical Officer in various districts.
Manaseh A. Bocha | Board Member, Representing Health Regulatory Bodies
Manaseh is a Clinical Officer by profession, currently working at the Ministry of Health Headquarters, Nairobi as Head Clinical Services. He studied at the Kenya Medical Training college and graduated with a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery in 1988, later acquired a Higher Diploma Ear, Nose & Throat/Audiology in the same institution. In the year 2012 he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Management at Kenya Methodist University and thereafter a MSc. In International Health from JKUAT in 2017. Among his relevant achievements at the Ministry of Health is when he coordinated the development of Human Resources for Health Norms & Standards 2014-2018 and Health Infrastructure Norms & Standards 2017 when he was the Head of Norms & Standards at the Ministry of Health 2014-2017. These documents have been useful in categorization of health facilities in Kenya.
Eunice Tole | Board Member, Representing Health Regulatory Bodies
Eunice is an influential leader in impacting quality and patient safety in Kenya’s health systems. She has previous representation(co-opted) in the standards, ethics, disciplinary and quality subcommittee of the nursing council. She was amongst those chosen to represent the nursing council in the one-week (1St- 5th November 2021) WISN (workload indicators of staffing needs) workshop led by the Ministry of Health through the Kenya Health Human Resource Advisory Council in collaboration with WHO. She has participated and presented in academic local and international conferences and seminars on topics related to nursing practice, the culture of safety-a safe culture and quality standards over the years. She is currently serving as a nominated board member in a faith-based health care institution in Nairobi, where she chairs the quality and standards board subcommittee in this hospital.
Mr. Elyas Sheikh Abdinoor | Board Member, Representing the Private Sector
Mr. Abdinoor has worked in the medical field for over 11 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, a Diploma in Community Health and a Diploma in Medical Laboratory. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH)
Ms Meboh Abuor | Board Member, Representing the Council of Governors
Ms Abuor is a senior program manager at the Council of Governors Secretariat focusing on intergovernmental relations and governance in devolution. She holds a Master of Arts in Human Rights, Peace and Conflict from the University of Nairobi, Bachelor of Laws and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Uganda. She is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Uganda with vast legal experience in the East African region. Ms. Meboh has more than 10 years’ extensive experience in policy review/legislative development, Legal /Statutory Risk assessments and Devolution compliance in the sectors of health governance, health systems and services delivery among other areas.
Ms. Irine Moraa Ogamba | Board Member, Representing the Council of Governors
Ms. Ogamba is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya having been admitted to the Bar in 1999. She is also a Certified Secretary. Ms Ogamba is a public sector management practitioner with more than 21 years of experience. Six of which she served as a corporation Secretary. Ms. Ogamba has vast experience in institutional, legal and policy development and analysis; Human Rights; corporate governance, administration, lobby and advocacy on sociallegal matters, Strategic planning and conveyance.
Ms. Mariam Adam | Board Member, Representing the Attorney General
Ms. Adam is an accomplished Public Sector Advocate with over 11 years legal experience. She is a Principal State Counsel at the Office of the Attorney General & Department of Justice (OAG & DOJ), deployed to the Department of Advocates Complaints Commission (ACC). She is specialized in Investigating, Researching and Prosecuting cases of professional misconduct against Advocates. She was appointed as a designated representative/alternate to the Attorney General to the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority in January 2022.
